"THE FEMALE MINSTRELS.
Don't Pail to See Them at the Theater
a Tuesday Evening.
The best Female Minstrel Troupe in
the world will perform at the Theater in
this city tomorrow and Wednesday evening. The Kalamazoo, Michigan, Gazetee,
says; The Grand was well filled last
evening with an audience made up exclusively of gentlemen, and the verdict
was universal that Duncan Clark’s Lady
Minstrels made a hit. The ladies are
fair of features and form, and the specialFrench — high
kickers were all champions, and made a
pleasing spectacle, M’lle Celias, who has
a record of 8 feet 10 inches, kicks with
wase and grace seldom equalled. The
tableaux, grand marches and farces were
interesting features, and Duncan Clark’s
Minstrels are always sure of a good house} jishing columns of stuff in the funny
in Kalamazoo.

A FUNNY OLD MAN.
Will Green Seasoned to a Turn For His
Foolishness.
This is the way the San Francisco
News Letter touches up an esteemed
but misguided newspaper man who has
no love for Nevada county and our people: There isa most extraordinary individual ‘up in Colusa county, whose
pranks have become a source of infinite
amusement to all who know him.
a Missourian from way back, and though
old and grizzled, rejoices in the youthful
patronymic of Will S. Green, as he delights to sign himself. He is one of those
individuals who evidently thinks that he
and God made the universe, and that if
some serious mistakes would -have been:
avoided. Not long since, this sapient
individual publicly announced himself_as
the dictator of those:opposed to hydraulic mining, but when the pinch came,
he mildly took a back seat, and cooed
as gently as any. burro in love with the
sound of his own voice. He has recently
gone off at another target, and is publittle paper which he edits in the spare
time from regulating the affairs of the
universe, by which he seeks to prove
that the output of the hydraulic mines
of the State, at their best, was only a
beggarly $1,500,000 annually, As it is
a well-known fact that the product was
$15,000,000, one can but wonder what
object he expects to attain by his misrepresentation, and whether he fancies
al) his readers are as foolish as himself.
