Hustler’s mine is situated on ‘the right

which uses abuut 350 inches of water
under a vertical pressure of about 200,
behind a restraining dam, which holds
back the debris except when the floodgate of said dam is opened, which has
been the case on one or two occasions.
Columbia Hill mines, commonly known
as the Eureka’ Lake Consolidated, has

Robison and Frandy’s mune is located
on the head of Spring Creek, a tributary

The Place claim is located at or near
the town of Omega, on the left bank of
the South Yuba River, and has two
monitors, which use about 500 infthes
each under a pressure of about 200 feet.
The bank of the claim is about eighty
feet in perpendicular height. This clai.o
keeps up a restraining dam, but the
water frequently goes out very muddy.
In addition to the above mentioned
monitors located on the South Yuba

which use twenty-five to thirty inches
under pressure ranging from forty to

John T. Canfield, ‘who is just up from
Mexico, to pay a Visit to his parents at
this city, says a move has been made by
the Mexican Government which will effectually interfere with the production of
precious metals in Mexico.
“About three weeks ago,” he said, ‘the

am, telegraphed me while I was at one of
the towns on the coast not to buy any

the day the Government declared a heavy
duty on concentrations no notice or warning was given, and many smaller dealers
lost heavily because they could notafford . 7,

“Such action affects the people financially, many of whem mine in the interior

the country have petitioned the Minister
of the Interior to rescind the order, as_ it

republic, and are trying to crush their
smaller rivals.”
