In the upper part of this lower reservoir, just below the brush dam, is located the crib work, and when this reservoir has been . filled to the top ofthe ¢rib the water will.run out through it and is then carried by the flume to the ravine of Humbug i creek, thence to the river below. Alongside of the upper reservoir in the excavation there is a tunuel which is arranged so that the flow from the face of the mine can pass through it and out into the reservoir of Humbug creek and not pass through either of the settling reservoirs. The managers of the mine claim that they do not use this only on rare occasions whén the works above get choked up so as to require relief by this source. The managers of the Anti-Debris Association hayé doubt about this and say.they i f wish to place a measurement on the : works now and anether after a run of oD three months, then they can determine if a the mine is being run in good faith and a. to comply with the decree of Judge Gilbert, in and at the same time give the re— works full credit for what they 0. : The road passing along the south side “of the mine. and excavation ~is: the main atage road; and from thiete the northeast, one thile, is the town. It was enacted with a cleverness and dash'that gave no serious thought a chance while the © curtain wasup. Mr. Trader, a fun-maker of exceeding grace whicse every inflection, grimace andvattitude is provocative of a laugh, led the amusing situations in about all the important scenes. As ‘‘Leon Bonnefoi” he portrayed the victim ‘of a bad case of mother-in-law figuring at the same time incidentally in a series of aungure which involved him in sundry ludicrous complications with his better half, her vigilant.and peppery mother-inlaw, and his chumi ““Gaston” (Mr. Hatch) who proved to his surprise to be the lawful husband of his illicit flame. The Tonight the thrilling meledrama of The Convict’s Daughter” will be given.
