The only pure Cream Tarter Powder sold on the market. Other brands contain either ammonia, alum or some other adulterant. Ammonia or alum powders dry out, make the dough too porous, leaving a bitter taste, etc. : No agency has assisted so much toward perfection in cookery as Price's Cream Baking Powder. Its ingredients are simple and so blended as to exist in exact chemical proportions, so after use there is never any excess of either left in the food, Hence there can be no impurities whatever left in ‘the finished food.‘ No bitter taste, no taint of ammonia, but food raised with Dr. Price’s Cream Baking Powder partakes of the natural sweet flavor of the flour and keeps moist and fresh for days. This powder possesses qualities peculiar to it alone. No other makes such delicious pastry. No other contains the white of eggs. PERSONAL MENTION. bSocial and Other. A Company That Revels: in“ Fun and Musie, : The Helena (Montana) Journal says of the troupe to appear at the Theater here Monday evening : The Noss family gave a very enjoyable entertainment at the opera’ house last night, consisting of musical novelties, comedy spevialty acts, and concluding with & comedy entitled ‘A Quick Match.” Ine entertainment was clean and crisp, and was very refreshing vuming as it did right after the very rank performance given by the ‘‘ Uncle Tom’s Cabin ” Company. The first act was in the nature of an overture by Floe, Lottie, May, Bertha, Frank and Fred Noss, who appeared as Mexican mandolin players, and gave a fine series on the mandolins. The costumes were rich and appropriate, adding to the natural beauty and gracefulness of the weurers. May and Bertha Noss then appeared as two gypsies, and later in a comic specialty entitled ‘‘ Fun on the Beach.” They are the two youngest members of this talented family of musicians and comedians, and their handsome faces and figures, together with their really good specialty work, pletely captured the audience at the outset, and were repeatedly encored. Their work, how" ever, was only preliminary to the entertainment proper, and the audience was soon being treated to the most unique and creditable combination of musical absurdities that has ever been witnessed in this city. The entire stage was littered with all manner of implements, from a churn to a donkey, and everything was made to contribute music. It really seemed as though the Noss family could draw music from anything they pleased. It is not the old-fashioned method of playiag on a number of oddlooking instruments such as has been sven for years on the minstrel stage, but the musical part of the program is worked in a carefully arranged but seemingly disconnected domestic comedy drama, The oxophone quartette is original, the human pipe organ unique and the saxophone quintette excellent. The “Quick Match,” in two acts, which concludes the entertainment, is one of the most laughable musical comedies imaginable. e The Noss Jollities must be seen: to be appreciated, and those who were present last, evening will be a witness to the fact that the entertainment is all that is claimed for it, and that it is a source of genuine amusement from beginning to end, EEE The subject at the Methodist Church tomorrow morning will be: — ‘‘Living Bread.”’.In the evening the exercises will be varied, The choir and congregation will unite in giving an ‘Evening of Song.” The pastor, Rey, John Chisholm, will-prefsce the Hymns sung with a brief synopsis of the circumstances which inspired their composition. The general class meeting will convene in the upper room at 9:30 a. M, The Sacramental sermorning sermon. The bell will ring at at-6:15-for the meeting of the Epworth commence at 7 0’clock. 4 as You can’tafford to laugh, dear girls, Unless your teeth are white as pearls— Unless your mouth is pink and sweet, And your two lips in rosebuds meet; And you cannot supply this' want, But through the use of SOZODONT., Fine Gloves for Men. 5) 2 Just the thing for a Holiday Gift. Still Hammering Away at the Hydraalie Mining Industry. Tne Sacramento News of last evening says: Some days ago a ndtice signed by J. Routier, J. E. Camp and John Rooney, calling for a meeting for today of the farmers to discuss the hydraulic mining question, was published in the Jocal. papers. A number of the farmers of the couaty put in an appearance at the court house this afternoon. Ex-Senator Routier called the meeting to erder, and briefly referret to the informal meeting held by the farmers to protest against any action the Board of Supervisors might take looking to the opening ot the Iowa Hill mines. It had since been thought that the result of tho meeting was not all that was desired. It seemed to be the sense of the farmers tiat further effort sheuld be made to effectually crush hydraulic mining. He thought some effort should He called for a geacral expression from those present. Robert T. Devlin said he believed the proper thing was a counter organization. The miners were active, and a strenuous effort would be made to influence Congress, which met-next week, to enact laws faverabte to” the mining industries. Lately a National Congress of miners was held at Denver, Colorado. Doubtless prominent mining men were now in Washington, and would soon be in the lobbiés. Uther gentlemen spoke similar sentiments. Mr. Rooney moved that immediate steps be taken to organize, and that the chair appoint two persons from each supervisor district for that purpose. ) Carried. The old idea was that facial eruptions were due to a “blood humor,” for which they gave potash. Tausthoold Sarsaparillas contain potash, a drastic mineral, that instead ef ocreasing, actually creates more eru tious. You have noticed this when taking otherSarsaparillas. Itis however now known that tho stomach, the blood creating power, is the seat of all vitiating or cleansing 6per. ations. A stomach Clogged by indigestion or constipation, vitiates the blood, result pimplea. A clean'stomach and healthful di. gestion purifies tt and they disappear, Thus Joy's Vegetable Sarsaparilla is compounded after the modern idea to regulate the bowels and stimulate the digestion. The effect is Jmmediate. A short testimonial to contrast the action of the potash “Sarsaparillas and Joy’s. Mra. C. D. Stuart, of 400 Hayes 8, 8. F., writes: “I have for years had indigestion.
