(9M®ce—Dpposite the Court House,
The weather here now reminds one of the great storm in New York last
winter when Re ’. Henry Ward Beecher got caught in a snowstorm and suf3
fered exposure which resulted in his death. The whole nation meurned the
loss of a man of such great learning, eloquence and ability. His fate when
remembered prevents many people from submitting themselves to the rigors of
the storm now prevailing here. Not a few find it more convenient for the above
and other reasons to have their eyesight attended to at their homes. In response to numerous requests Prof. Frank wa visit these ‘people at their
houses FREE OF CHARGE.
They will find at the Postoffice postal cards addressed to the Professor, and
by writing upon one of these cards their name and the hour they would like
to have the Professor call he will fill ull-engagements promptly.
Faithfally Yours,
I have been.on the coast but-one year, and_ in Nevada
county eight months ; and although a comparatively newcomer-among you, I am told that the work I have -done :
here has won for me the same confidence as to mv_ qualifications that it has in equally intelligent communities—in}—the East during years of experience. —
I have in view of these-facts determined to remain here
permanently, and in order that one and all may become
fully informed-as to my reliability and-qualifications as an
optician, I propose to present later in this space testimo. nials from many and well-known people whom I have . =
My reputation in this immediate locality “is already well enough established, but I. want if possible to
extend it to every settlement large and small in the Sierra
Nevada gold fields,
While the public can rest fully assured that from me
they will seceive the highest grade of stientific examinations, tests and treatment, they: should bear in mind that
my prices are extremely moderate.
consultation and examination, as is customary in the East,
and my terms fo: spectacles or treatment of the eyes are
decidedly lower than those usually charged by opticians
of my class, of which class you will find very Bet in this

The money you pay to me is not for temporary results, such as you obtain from ordinary sc so»-called opticians.
T guarantee permanent relief.
L-have ‘the fullest confidence in the future of the mining
and other resources of this portion of ‘the State, and have
the same confidence i in the belief that my practice here: will
continue to grow in extent.
If you_take interest in the welfare of your eyesight, do
not let any trifling-circumstance or false notion . preven;. .
you from immediately consulting the only scientific and
professional optician in Northern California. ~
With compliments of the season, and with the hope that
we may“all have “big clean-ups’ "and Gani crops during the coming year, I am
