When a bobbin is to be wound the bolt is yulled out enough to release the balance wheel, and turned slightly to the right or left where it is held by a stop-pin tili the bobbin is filled. When the machine is liable to. be meddled with by children, the bolt can be left out of the wheel when not in use, so that the machine cannot be operated by the treadle.
