Constable at Blacks, and was heard, read and talked of by Wm. Summ, of Dunnigan, who was coming to Woodland. He came on tothis town, put up_at.the Pacific House, and found there aman who was trying to sell a horse and buggy. He went out to look at them, and finding they answered the description of the stolen property which he heard in Blacks, at once notified the Sheriff at this place, who arrested the man and placed him in jail. Constable Dyer was notified, and he arrived here last night and tpok possession of his man, whom he will return to Colfax today. Chrisman admitsthat he took the horse and rig, but puts up the pleathat Mrs. Harlan, was a relative of his, and that he took the horse to cell for her. accompanied by a woman whom ‘he claims to be his wife. AConcentrating Patent. George W. Starrand R. M. Kinley of Grass Valley recentiy secured a patent on a sulphuret working apparatus, which is asserted to be an im-' provement on endless belt concentrators, like the Frue and Triumph. The object of the improvement is to discharge tle stlphurets before the belt reaches the usual washing-tank, The discharge consists of a rabber strip secured along the top edge ef a body piece, the upper end of which is proyided with # curved seat on which the rubber strip is secured, so that it 1s given acurve or cross section to conform to the curve in the belt. © The strip is so placed as to be adjustable Chrisman ‘fs F formnlas so generally used for. various disorders. time preparations affect the people of this age, who have béen treated, under modern medical schools and codes, with poisonous and injurious drugs. This test has been carefully. pursued, until they are convinced that the preparations they now call Warner’s Log Cabin remedies are what our much abused systems required. : ' Among them is what is known as Warner’s Log Cahin sarsaparilla, and they frankly announce that they do not consider the sarsapariila of 80 much value in itself as it isin the combination of the various ingredients which tozether work marvelously upon the system. They also. have preparations for ther diseases, such as ‘‘Warner’s Log Cabin congh and consumption remedy,’ ‘‘Log Cabin hops and buchn remedy,” ‘‘Warner’s Log Cubin hair tonic.”” They have great confidence that they have a cure for the common disease of catarrh. which they give the name of ‘‘Log Cabin rose cream.” Also a ‘‘Log Cabin plaster,” which they are confilent will supplant all others, and a liver pill, to be used separately or in connection with the other remedies. We hope that the public -will not he disappointed in these remedies, but will ieap a benefit from the investigations, and that the proprietors will not be embarrased in their introduction by dealers trying to substitute remedies that have been so familiar tg the shelves of our druggists. This line of remedies will be used instead of others. Insist npon your drugzist getting them for you if he hasn't them yet in stock, and we feel confident that these new remedies will receive approbation at our reader’s hands, as the founders haye used every. care in their preparation.
