Waxing Fat on Communities It Has Practically Ruined. Numerous packages of dry goods being shipped by a Marysville storekeoper to Veitizens of North Bloomfield and vicinity werein the express office at this city last night. It doesseem strange that people who have been hounded for years by the Marysvillians, as those of the hydraulic mining portions of this county have beer, should contribute directly to the support oi their persecutors, and moreover do it at the expense of the business men of their owncommunities. It is perhaps none of the Transcrrer’s business where the people of the San Juan ridge do their buying, but when it sees them sending to the asks itself what the use is of contending year after year in behalf of their homes and their industry while they go right on furnishing their enemies with money to fight them with. Hydraulic miners and, persons dependent in any way upon things, and that is all there is of it. The Wonderful City of Chicago. Mr. Stoddard goes under a year’s contract, and will superintend the construction and operation of a big mill. Mr. Wasley was drilling a ' hole when a piece of steel flew from the Jrill and. struck him just above the: left sye, cutting the skin and making quite a_ WOOD oo ee ee James Glasson has a quartz claim nortli f commenced upon it by the Hurley and Feeney hoys, who haye honded the claim from Mr. Glasson. The croppings have prospected well and ore from the ledge has paid from $20 to $80 per load. There is a shaft 70 feet deep on the claim and machinery will be erected. I The old shaft on the Minnie ground, on Gold Hill, is to be cleaned out and put in condition to resume prospecting. Work at the Pittaburg mine, Nevada District, is to be resumed immediately by operating in the upper leyels, where it is believed that good bodies of ore exist. The new hoisting and pumping works on. the Gold Flat mine, of which John Skewes is Superintendent, are in process of erection and good headway is being made with the work.
