A Decis'on of Jude MeKoana Looked For. ward to With Interest. Examiner: J. G. Mather, Superintendent of the big Malakoff gold mine at North Bloomtield, which has the largest hydraulic machinery of any in the country, is at the Grand. The Malakoff, in common with other hydraulic mines, closed down about nine years ago. Under a decision by United States Circuit Judge Sawyer the tailings could not be worked, and now he is trying to get the Court-te—grant this. It will be argued before Judge McKenna today. Mr. Mather said last night that he was convinced, with many’ others,,that there would be a wonderful revival of business in California if the impounding stations proposed by Congressman Biggs in his bill were constructed. ‘Under this $45),090 was asked as an appropriation, and the United States Engineer was instructed to gather information as to these,” he said. ‘It ig now proposed to build impounding afitions for the tailings on the Sacraanento, Feathér, American, Bear and Yuba rivers. Should this be done the gold mins will start in again, and it will cause $10,000,000 annually to be cireulated in San Francisco. “As one of these dollars will circulate to at least five persous the effect will be Tt would cause such a revival of t.ade as has not been known here for many years. The hope of the hydraulic miners now is that this will be done. At present $100,090,000 are locked up in hydranlic mines. Not a wheel is being turned nor a motion made, ‘Once start these to going and we shall not injure anybody, but, on the conrary, benefit everybody. All the articles which we take will be returned in good order and I can assure you that I would take pride in seeing old Yuba well represented. ‘Our jelly palace promises to be one of the great features of the fair. It will be of great dimensions, about touching the ceiling, This palace is made entirley of glass, specially blown and cut for it, and in each jar we want every county in the tate represented. To fill all of the jar, and tubes between three and four tons of jelly will be required. To parties who will provide the jelly we will send jara, as none but the jars we have made will auswer in constrvcting the palace. The ladies will visit Yuba City to-day, and possbly may spend several daya in this vicinity. Mrs. Bradley was at one time a resident of Yuba county, residing at Smartaville from 1846 te 1866, when she moved over ' into Nevada county, —_ Mrs. Marcellus has a number of acquaintances here, whom she used to visit @ number of years ago.
