The Washington mill and mine at this place are both closed down at the present time, just for how long a time T have not been informed, but probably for at least three or four months. In the meantime two contracts are to be let in. the mine, one to sink the main shaft one hundred feet-deeper from the fourth level to the fitth, making it five hundred feet in depth altogether; the other contract is to drive the four hundred foot level a distance! of two hundred and fifty feet further south.
