A Mining. Exhibit.
In speaking of the proposed mining
exhibit at the State Fair, Superinteudent
Mott says the space to be alloted this
exhibit of one of California's principal resources will be an entire northeast court
of the Payilion, embracing an open area
of 160 feet square, or 25,900 square feet,
wherein it is proposed to show, as far as
possible, the mining industry—from the
taking of the crude rock from its natural
bed, and its passage through crushers,
amalgamators, stamp mills and all other”
machinery and paraphernalia used in the
extraction of gold and silver. :
The State Board have from time to
time contemplated an. exhibit of this
character, as they believe it due to the
mining interests that a full exhibit of this
industry be made this year as a preliminary of the great exhibit to be made in
1893 at Chicago.
Opening the Canal.
The most acceptable proposition that
can be made to persons troubled with
chronic constipation, is to open that important canal—the bowels, That. proposition can be carried out by the parties
interested if they resort to Hostetter’s
Stomach Bitters, the most effective, most
genial alterative extant. It is the mistake of many otherwise sensible people,
that they resort to drastic, or, in other
words, violent purgatives. Without exaggeration, this is highly injurious, since
such medicaments weaken the bowels besides convulsing both them and the stomach with pain. Relief sought from the

Heard and °Sen by. the Daily Transeript . Is Unquestionably Gaining Great ‘Strath
in Nevada County.
We started to say the other day, that
with the exception of Truckee, there
would not be found enough of People’s
Party men to make a respectable sized
funeral. We did not say it, however,
and it is well we did not, as’ our reputation for truth might have been impaired
by so expressing ourselves. Yesterday
we learned that in about a half or twothirds of the precincts of the county that
Peoples’ Party men, from the Republican, as well as the Democratic parties,
are getting to be about as tlick as flies
around a molasses bung-hole At the
lower end of the county, the new party
has a large following, and now we hear
that they have a very severe attack of
the same complaiat’at North Bloomfield
and other places on the Ridge. ; One enthusiastic supporter told the reporter
that in all human probability the new
party would have a full ticket in the
field. If not, that they would pick their
men from both tickets, as they were determined to show their full strength at
the coming election. And he said further that he believed the party would
have another newspaper organ in Nevada
county besides the Truckee Republican
before another year rolled by. One

we do not think it will amount to much
at the coming election, as about as many
Democrats as Republicans are changing
front.
A Peoples’ Party man has also been
buzzing the editor of the Telegraph,
That paper of yesterday says :
A gentleman who is observant of the
way the political cat jumps in this community, and who is a Republican, says
that Weaver for President has now just
about 500 votesin his favor in Nevada
county. Another gentleman who is
going to vote for Weaver, says that the
free silver candidate will poll largely over
500. He says the Weaver par ty, although unorganized is gaining strength
pdaily._Wede-net-cnow who is right ;
we could always better tell the vote a
man would get after the votes &re counted. And we are never surprised at the
way things political turn out, for the
reason that the voting population very
often take up independent notions and
refuse to follow party leaders, nor will
the voters and times allow themselves to
be whipped into traces. It is very certain that Weaver is taking many from
both’ the old parties.
The Grass Valley Telegraph also contains these notes about the new party :
Weaver and Field hats “appear in the
