Lithgow, D. D. G. M, of the L. 0. O. F. of California, assisted by Erastus Bond as G. M., J. C. Rich as G. W., John Chisholm as G. G., and John Hocking as G. S., installed the following officers of Oustomah Lodge, No. 16: Geo. Hothersall, N. G. ; W. J. Clemo, V. G.; Geo. A. Gray, 8. ; 8. Clutter, R. §. N.G.; J. C. Rich, L. 8. N. G.; James Kinkead, W. ; E. Bond, C. ; R. Forman, I. G: ; Timothy Giles, O. G. ; A. Seaman, R. S. S.; J. A. Hitchens, Lg 8. 8.;E. J. Baker, R.S. V.G. ; Geo. E. Johnson, S.S. N. G.3 Finance Committee, R. Forman, A. Seaman and Jas. Union : Thos. C. Bourn was up from Pleasant Valley yesterday obtaining supplies for the camp that his company is establishing on the Yuba below Bridgeport, to work the bed of the river this season. The river is now low,-as-but-little snow is left in the mountains to keep it up, and in a week or two it will be down to the lowest summer stage. The work of putting in a wing dam, to turn the course of the river will be commenced in a few days. Besides this company, which consists ot white men, several Chinese companies will work the river bed in the same vicinity. Grass Valley “Telegraph” Items. Tuesday afternoon, while witnessing the wrestling, Chas. Angove was seized with a severe fit. Aid was summoned, but the spell lasted about three minntes before Angove regained consciousness. The young man is subject to fits. : G. H. Underhill has sent to Hon. Wm. George, Clerk of the Board of Education, plans for the-new schoolhouse, drawn by Mr. Quayle of Denver, Colorado. It is claimed that these plans will admit of the construction of the schoolhouse for $15,000 orless. The rooms are all 30x35 fee: an size and the assembly room 354x73 feet. More Pay Gravel. Superintendent Richarda of the Centennial says that he has just made the a third upraise to the gravel bed above the tunnel, . striking it ina distance of ten feet. It is the same as found in the twc other upraises—hard, dry, cemented blue gravel, worth about $1 _per carload. — He had merely cut into it and would proceed to further develop its extent but these three upraises show 200 feet width of gravel inclining toward the face of the tunnel, which is being steadily driven ahead to strike the main channel. Yesterday morning sparks from a passing locomotive on the Central Pacific set afire the platform of the milroad company’s hay depot @ Colfax which is® the southern extension of the main freight depot.
