Chairman,
For a number of years, by common
‘consent, the people of Nevada C.ty and
Gra-a Valley agreed to celebrate in each
town on alternate years, and each town
has helped the other out in the way of
sending large delegations, allowing no
attractions to take place whereby the}
celebration would be interfered with in
the least possible ‘manner.
This year it
is Nevada City’s turn to have the celebration, and we learn that it is the intention of a newly organized club in. }
Grass Valley to get up attractions, such
as horse-racing, ete., on the coming 4th
of July, in order to keep their people at
home: We are not prepared to believe
that the citizens of Graas Valléy will do:
anything to injure the celebration at this:
place, but on the contrary will do as
much for Nevada City this year as Nevada City did for them last year.
