For private stables, for each ORDINANCE NO. 103. 3 An Ordinance Fixing the Water Rates for the Year Commencing July Ist, 1892, avd Terminating July ist, 1893. : The Board of Trustees of the City of Nevada do ordain as follows: From and after July Ist, 1892, and until July let, 1893, the following rates and no greater shall be charged, and may be collected per week by the Nevada City Water Company within the corporate limits of the City of Nevada: Section 1. Tell families, 40 cents. Section 2. For restaurants and eating houses, 75 cents. Sectien 3. For first-class hotels, $3. For laundmes connected with — same, $1.50. Section 4. For second-class hotels, $2. For laundries connected with same, $1. Section 5. Fur third-class hotels, $1.50. For laundries connected with same, 75 vents. Sec. 6. For fourth-class hotels, $1.00. For iaundries connected with same, 50 vents. 6 horses. Bec. 63. No one except a properly authorized agent of the Water Company shall turn on the water to any place or building without a permit from the water agent ; provided that any authorized agent of the City or Fire Department may turn on the water for City purposes. Sec. 64. For all water used for running machinery, 25. cents per miner’s inch for 24 hours run; provided that during the months of June, July, August and September, of eadh year when the Water Company cannot obtain more ‘than a sufficient supply of water in the pipes for domestic purposes and _ irrigation, itmay refuse to sell water for the purpose of running machinery. Sec. 65. The Marshal, when requested, shall accompany the agent of the Water Company for the purpose of shutting off the water from the premises of any persou who shall be in default in the payment of water rates as provided in this Ordinance. : The Marshal shall. charge the Water Company for such service the sum of $2 for each time he accompanies the Water Agent. The same to be paid by the Marshal into the City Treasury the same as other funds collected by him. Passed this 27th day of February, 1892, by the following vote: Ayes: Baker, Carr, Gault, Rich. For irrigation, if tdking water at family rates, for every quantity above ene inch, at the rate of 25 cents per inch for 24 hours. : Sec. 50, For irrigation, when taking no water at family rates, 30 cents per inch for 24 hours. For irrigating vegetable gardens when vegetables are sold in market, $25 per season. : Sec, 52, For sprinkling or watering the streets of Nevada City from the tire plugs or other openings, $20 per year. Sec. 58. For practice of organized hose or fire companies, $10 per yearSec. 54. For flushing sewers of all kinds, $10 per year. : Sec. 55. For City Hall and City Jail, $5 per year. Sec. 56. For City trough at the Plaza and City Pound, $20 per year. Sec. 57. For city fire plugs for water used fur fire purposes $3 for each hydrant per year. Sec. 58. The Agent of the Water Company shall have the power in all cases, to ascertain by proper measurment the quantity of water used and fix the rice as provided by Sections, 48, 49 and for Cathowhen run Sec. 59. All water rates, except irrigation, andfor City and County purposes,are due and payable weekly, and if not so paid the water agent may, mm his discretion, upon giving the delinquent consumer one week written notice to pay up, shut off the water from the i M such consumer. ORDINANCE NO. 102. An Ordinance Providing For the Construction of Sidewalks from Roger Williams Ravine to Spring Street, and also on Spring and Findley Streets. The Beard of Trustees of the City of Nevada do ordain as follows : Section 1. It is hereby declafed necessary for the. public use and convenience that sidewalks be constructed on the west side of the street from Roger’ Williams Kavine to Spring street, and thence along Spring street, on the south side, to the large bowlder, at the west boundary of the preperty of A. Lones. Also a sidewalk along Findley street, on the east side, from Broad to Spring streets. Section 2, Such sidewalks shall be two feet in width, and the boards of the walk shall be of spruce lumber 12 inches wide by 2 inches in thickness, Tlie sills of said sidewalks shall be heart ef cedar, 4 feet
apart, and shall be 4 inches wide by 4 inches in thickness. The boards shall be nailed down by 4 inch wire nails, and the said sidewalks shall be laid lengthwise with the street, on which each is laid, and each sidewalk shall be of the same grade as the street on which the same is laid. Section 3. Said sidewalks shall be constructed under the superintendence and direction of the Street Superintendent, aud the property-holders, and owneis of lots havpng a frontage on the sides of the streets herein described, as being affected by this ordinance are required to construct the same in front of their respective tots, in the nianner hereinbefore des: cribed, on er before March 20, 1892, and in case of refusal or neglect of any of the said property holders or owners to comply with the previsions of this ordinance it shall be the duty of the Street Superintendent to procure the materials and constyuct the whole or any portion of said sidewalks, and report the -costs to the City Board of Tiustees, that the same may be levied and collected as a tax upon said lots ef the delinquent owners.
