The Board of Trustees of the City of Nevada do ordain as follows: From and after July Ist, 1892, and until July 1st, 1893, the following rates and no greater shall be charged, and may be collected per week. by the Nevada City Water Company within the cerporate limits of the City of Nevada: Section 1. Te all families, 40cents. Section. 2.— For restaurants and eating houses, 75cents. ‘ Section 3. For first-class hotels, $3. For laundries connected with same, $1.50. Section 4. For second-class hotels, $2. For laundries connected with same, $1. Section 5. Four third-class hotels, $1.50. For laundries connected with same, 75 vents. See. 6. For fourth-class hotels, $1.00. For 1aundries connected with same, 50 velits. Sec, 7. For each saloon, -75 cents. Sec. 8. For rooms and offices, 25 cents. Sec. 9. For photograph galleries, 50 eents. s Sec. 10. For barber shops, 50 cents. 6 horsés. Sec. 63. No one except a properly authorized agent of the Water Company shal turn on the water to any place or building without a permit from the water agent ; provided that any authorized agent of the City or Fire Department may turn on the water for City purposes. : ~ \See. 64. For all water used for running machinery, 25 cents: per miner’s inch for 24 hours run; provided that during the nionths of June, July, August and September, of each year when the Water Company cannotobtain more than a sufficient supply of water in the pipes for domestic purposes and _irrigation, it may refuse to sell water for the purpose of running machinery, Sec. 65. The Marshal, when requested, shall accompany the agent of the Water Company for the purpose of shutting off the water from the premises of any persou who shall be in default in the payment of water rates as provided in this Ordinance. The Marshal shall charge the’ Water Company for such service the sum-of $2 for each time he accompanies the Water Agent. For sprinkling or watering the streets of Nevada City from the fire piugs or other openings, $20 per year. Sec. 53. For practice of organized hose or fire companies, $10 per year. Sec. 54. Sec. 57. _ For-city fire plugs for water used for fire purposes $3 for each hydrant per year. Sec. 58. The Agent of the Water Company shall have the power in all cases, to ascertain by proper measurment the quantity of water used and fix. the Sec. 59. All water rates, except irrigation, and for City and County purposes,are due and payable weekly, and if not so paid the water agent may, in his discretion, upon giving ‘the delinquent consumer one written notice to pay up, shut off the water from the premises af such consumer. Sec. 60. Water rates for all city purposes and for the Court House are due and payable quarterly. Irrigation rates are payable in monthly installments of one-fifth of the rates w i current month water may be shut off the

An Ordinance Providing For the Construction of Sidewalks from Roger Williams Ravine to Spring Street, and also on Spring and Findley Streets. The Beard of Trustees of the City of Nevada do ordain as follows ; Section 1. It is hereby declared necessary for the public use and convenience that sidewalks be constructed on the west side of the street from Roger Walliams Ravine téSpring street, anu theuce along Spring street, oh the south side, to thc large bowlder, at the west boundary of the property of A. Lones, Also a ‘sidewalk along Findley street, on the east side, from Broad to-Spring streets. Section 2. “Such sidewalks shall be two feet in width, and the boards of the walk shall be of spruce lumber 12 inches wide by 2 inches in thickness. The sills of said sidewalks shall be heart of cedar, 4 feet apart, and shall be 4 inches wide by 4 inches in thickness. The boards shall be nailed down by 4 inch wire nails, and the said sidewalks shall be laid lengthwise with the street, on which each is laid, and each sidewalk shall be of the same grade us the street on which the same is laid. Section 3. Said sidewalks shall be constructed"under the superintendence and direction of the Street Superintendent, and the property-holders, and owners of lots having a frontage en the sides of the streets herein described, as being affected by this ordinance are required to construct the same in front of their respectiv@ lots, in the manner hereinbefore described, on or before March 20, 1892, and in case of refusal or neglect of any of the said property holders or owners to comply with the previsions of this ordinance it shall be the duty of the Street Superintendent to procure the materials and construct the whole or any portion of said sidewalks, and report the costs “to the City Board of 'T:ustees, that the same may be levied and collected as a tax upon said lots ef the delinquent owners.
