If You Vary From the Following Your

First—Give‘your name and residence
to one of the clerks of election, who wil:
give you a ballot if your-name is on the

Second—Upon receiving the ballot retire aloue to one of the booths and prepare y. ur ballot by marking an X at the

the support of such institations, and for

March 7, A. D. 1883, viz.: ‘Section 1.
Whenever the Legislature shall propose
any amendment or. amendinents to the
Constitution of this State, which amendment oc amendments shall have been
passed in the manner and: form required
by section one of article eighteen of the
Constitution, and uo “otter mode is provided by law for the subinission of such
amendment or amendments to the people
for their approval, it shall be the duty of
the Governor to advertise such proposed
amendment or amendments in at least
four newspapers of general circulation ju
tuis State, for three nronths next preceding the next ‘general election : One of said
newspapers must be published at the city
of Sacramento, and two at the city of
San Francisco; and in issuing his proélamation for an election at which any
amendment or amendments to the Constitution are to be voted upon, he shall include such amendment or.amendments
therein, and he shall designate them by
numbers, in the order in which they have
been proposed.” ‘Ihe said amendments
are submitted, to be separately voted
