John L. Cook presided and there was much enthusiasm. At Washington Tuesday night there was another fine turn-out. The chairman was W. L, Williamson and the secretary J. B. Lithgo. In addition to the able presentation of the -campiign’s issues by T:€. Hocking, the Assembly nominee, and the remarks of other candidates, Editor Watson of the Herald made a speech which was of course one of the best of the campaign. Mr. Watson is a fluent, forcible and logical talker, and he'presents his ideas in concise and telling form. After the Washington meeting there was a dance that was enjoyed greatily by all the participants. Finds Faver with Voters. TheRepublican candidate for County Recorder is winning golden opifiions from the people as he progf@sses on his pilgrimage through the different portions of the county. Mr. Sleep is one of the rising young men :of the county. He is full of energy, and has allthe qualifications necessary to fill the office in a manner satisfactory . . to everybody as'well asin the interest . . ofthe public. He is a most genial man, winning friends among old and young and permanently retaining them. All who know Mr. Sleep have only the best kind of words for him. Capabie and Popular. One of the most experienced and progressive educators in the State is W. J. Rogers, the Republican nominee . for County School Superintendent. Wherever he has -taught he has been held in the highest favor personally and professionally by pupils and parents. He knows all about the management of schools, and he has the executive ability to apply his knowledge to practical use. Mr. Rogers will keep the public schools of the county at the high standard they have . have held for many years past. a AGreat “spud” Country, One of the “attractions of BR. D. Skidmore’s saloon at North Bloomfield is a collection of gigantic potatoes representing the various national political parties.
