Head Says of this Section ofthe Country. @BA. E. Head arrived here yesterday from Alleghany, Sierra county, and the Ridge in this county. During his trip he has been making very close observations of the mining interests. He is of the opinion that this is the richest quartz mining section in the world, and is only yet in its infancy. Mr. Head believes, and his judgment has always been of the best, that as the mines here have scarcely been touched, that this and Sierra county must necessarily make rapid advances im the near future. He believes that several thousand men will yet be employed in the mines in and areund this district, when the capitalists who are now being attracted here begin investing their money in eur mining properties and open up the many promising mines that are now being worked on a small scale because the present owners do not have the means te put up the machinery that is necessary in order to work these mines in a thorough, economical manner and on a scale that is sure to bring good results. We kave the mines, but lack capital te put many of them in proper shape to make them pay. When this is done there will be room for more men,.and it is Mr. Head’s belief that it will not be long before some very important.changes will occur in the mining business of this district.
