He was born Nov. 13, 1909, and as a young man worked in area mines. He later went to work in the U.S. Naval Shipyard at Hunter's Point near San Francisco; from which he retired. He was a member of St. Paul’s Church of San Francisco, Mr. Rickard is survived by his daughters, Linda of San Francisco and Judy of Florida; a brother, James of Grass Valley; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Estelle. Burial was at Holy Cross Cemetery in Coloma, Wilbur Schaefer Family services have been conducted for Wilbur Henry Schaefer under the direction of
Chapel of the Hills, Auburn. Cremation followed. Eighty-year-old Mr. Schaefer, a Lake of the Pines resident, died Monday at an Auburn medical facility. 'He was a native of Boulder, Colo. and had lived in Nevada County for eight years, coming from Santa Cruz where he resided for 26 years. He retired after 35 years as a painting contractor. Mr. Schaefer is survived by his wife, Frances; daughter, Shirley Rommereim of Santa Cruz; son, Jack of Santa Cruz; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Victor Termine Life-long Chicago Park resident Victor Termine died Monday at a Sacramento medical center. He was 85. He retired at the age of 62 from Pacific Gas & Electric Co.’s Drum Division and was a member of Public Service Employees Association. Mr. Termine is survived by his two sisters, Ida of Chicago _ Park, Rose Viscia of Colfax; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Joe Termine of Colfax. At his request no services were conducted. He was buried privately in Colfax District Cemetery. Arrangments were by Chapel of the Hills, Auburn. NC woman hospitalized following metorcycle crash A Nevada City woman was in good condition at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital today fol-° lowing a motorcyle accident Wednesday. The motorcycle, driven by William Thomas Callahan Jr., — of Grass Valley, was eastbound on Greenhorn Road about one mile east of Brunswick Road when the accident occured, according to reports. Callahan, 32, was treated and released from the hospital after suffering cuts and_ scrapes.
