Edward Lausche
Edward C. Lausche, 75, died
Friday at his Grass Valley
home following a lengthy illness.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio,
born Jan. 17, 1913, he was the
son of Jacob and Cecelia
‘Lausche. He attended school in
Detroit, Mich., and moved to
Minnesota where he went into
farming.
He later relocated to .Lake
Tahoe where he was a logger.

his wife of -42 years, Joy; a
daughter, Dyanne Johnson of
Fairfield; two sons, Paul of
Grass Valley, David of
Roseville; two brothers, Al of
Grass Valley, Joe of Minnesota,
and numerous grandchildren.
A memorial service will be
conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at
Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's
Witness, 12860 La Barr Meadows Road, Grass Valley.
Matt Sauer
Ninety-one-year-old Matt. N.
Sauer died early today at a
Grass Valley medical facility.
Rosary will be recited at 7
p.m. Wednesday in the Grass
Valley chapel of Hooper &
Weaver Mortuary. A Mass of
Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in
St. Patrick’s Church. Burial
follows in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Grass Valley. r
Mr. Sauer, a resident of
Grass Valley, was born Feb. 14,
1897, in Carpio, N.D., the son of
Joseph and Katherine (Richl)
Sauer. He was raised and
educated in North Dakota. Mr.Sauer married Stella Mary
Chapdelaine on Oct. 20, 1924,
and moved to Grass Valley in

Patrick’s Church.
Mr. Sauer was preceded in
death by his wife. He is survived by a daughter, Helen Campbell of Sparks, Nev.; five sons,
Paul of Chico, George of
Longview, Wash., Arnold of
North San Juan, Bob and
Leonard of Grass Valley; 19
grandchildren and 23 greatgrandchildren.
Charles Terrill
According to his wishes, there
will be no services for Charles
C. Terrill who died Thursday at
a Grass Valley medical facility.
He was 71 and a resident of
Grass Valley. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Hooper & Weaver
Mortuary, Grass Valley.
The son of Charles and Ruth
(Harders) Terrill, he was born
in San Francisco on Jan. 7, 1917.
Mr. Terrill is survived by his
wife, Jane; sons, Charles and
Daniel; daughters, Carolyn,
Patricia Liner, and Kathleen
Aikens; five grandchildren;
and a sister, LaVerne Andrews.
He was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical
Workers, Local 6; and life
member of Mission’ Golden‘West Lodge.

A memorial mass will be
conducted for Virginia M. Wall
at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St.
Patrick’s Catholic Church,
Grass Valley.
Mrs. Wall died Friday at a
Grass Valley medical facility.
She was 71.
Born May 21, 1917, in San
Francisco, she was the daugh-ter of John and Della Quigley.
Mrs. Wall had lived in Nevada
_City for the past 10 years and
for nine years was a volunteer—
with Thrift Shop-Cancer Aid.In addition to her husband,
Lt. Col. (Ret.) Thomas III; she
is survived by two_ sons, _
Thomas IV, and Edward
“Tad’’, both of Nevada City;
one grandchild, and a sister,
Margaret McCarthy of
Millbrae. .
The family prefers contributions to Thrift Shop Cancer Aid.
