Mr. Carter, 58, died Wednesday at his Grass Valley home.
He was 58.
The son of Fredrick and Ethel
(Merrifield) Carter, he was
born Feb. 5, 1929 in Grass
Valley where he was raised. He
graduated from Grass Valley
High School and served in the
U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953.
He operated Schwartz Fly
Shop which ‘later became
Carter's Sporting Goods. He
also had a Volkswagen shop and
was a route driver for Van Gas.
Just prior to his illness, he
drove a rural mail delivery
route.
Mr. Carter is survived by his
daughter, Cindy of Grass
_ Valley; and sons, Fred of Grass
Valley and Jim of Elk Grove.
Contributions to Cancer Aid
Thrift Shop are preferred.
Norma Cox
In accordance with her
wishes, there will be no services
for Norma A. Cox, 67. She died
Sunday at a Grass Valley medical facility following a lengthy
_ illness.
Cremation arrangements
have been completed under the
direction of Hooper & Weaver
Mortuary, Grass Valley, with
burial to follow in Greenwood
Memorial Gardens, Grass
Valley. ;
She was born in_ Woodland,
Maine, June 21, 1920 to Floyd
and Cora (Perkins) Coons and
had lived in Grass Valley for 30
years.
Mrs. Cox is survived by her
husband, Harold; sons, Harold,
Jr. of San Diego, Tom and Ben
of Grass Valley; a sister,
Hie ene (C™arcs o me ot
Massachusetts and six grandchildren.
The family prefers memorial
contributions to Thrift ShopCancer Aid, Grass Valley. i
. 10:54 a.m. with Lincolns to the
11000 block of Cedar Ridge for a
medical aid.
