Merrick who died Tuesday at a
Grass Valley medical facility. A
memorial service will be con.
ducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at
the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day. Saints on -Hollow
Way, Nevada City. —
Cremation arrangements are
under the direction of Hooper &
Weaver Mortuary, Grass
Valley.
~She was born Aug. 29, 1901 in
Lawrence, Mass; the daughter
of Rudolph and Mildred
(Schmitter) Clarenbach. She
graduated as a registered nurse
from Columbia University and
later was on the teaching staff
there.
She married Joseph L. Merrick in a civil ceremony on
April 29, 1936 and they renewed
their vows in the Oakland Tem_ple_of_the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day*Saints on _
Aug. 18, 1982.
The couple moved to Rough &
Ready 12 years ago from
Southern California. She was
_predeceased by her husband.
Mrs. Merrick was an artist
and sculptor.
She is survived by several
cousins, nieces and nephews on
the East Coast.
