PREFACE During the past five years, in the course of my family genealogical research, I have gathered much statistical information regarding the early residents of Nevada County, California. It is my intention to share this information with fellow researchers, and since most of the data was compiled from the United States Census of 1880, to partially index that record. Also included are the Births, Deaths and Marriages as published in the San Juan Times, Weekly Newspaper, circa 1874 1884. These vital notices are by no means complete, since only a scattering of the issues published have survived the years, but since they do contain invaluable genealogical material, I have included them here.
