at the new shaft, and a Leyner drill sharpener, and a combined pipe and
bolt threading machine were added to the machine and blacksmith shop
equipment. New buildings erected included a new dry house at the old
incline shaft and a barn and carpenter shop at the new shaft. Improvements contemplated for 1914 include a new lathe for the machine shop,
a new head frame, ore bins, ore skips and additional transformers for
the new shaft, new mortars for the old mill, and, if the new shaft developments come up to expectations, a new twenty-stamp mill before the end
of the year.
The tables accompanying this report give a fairly complete record of
the work for the year, and I would therefore recommend that they be
carefully perused.
It gives me pleasure to call your attention to the efficient service
rendered by your superintendent at the mine, Mr. C. H. Mallen, and by the
heads of departments, acting under his directions.
Respectfully submitted,
R. CHESTER TURNER,
Vice-Pres. and Manager.
