Lindsey, Editor & Publisher 340 College View Drive Rohnert Park, California Here is Grass Valley The Grass Valley area is invitingly situated in Nevada County in the 2,400-foot elevation of the green and golden, pine-covered foothills of the Sierra Nevada region. It lies at the juncture of Highway 20 and 49, the greatly traveled north-south Golden Chain Route that links the colorfully historic sites of internationally famous Mother Lode and Northern Mine Country of Cali-fornia. Grass Valley is 158-miles north east of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Area; 58-miles east of Sacramento, the State Capitol; 93-miles west of Reno, Nevada; 35-miles east of Marysville; 440-miles north of Los Angeles and 24-miles north of Auburn. The Grass Valley area is easily reached from East-West points over swift, smooth four-lane expressway Interstate 80 (U.S. 40) connecting with n/s Highway 49 at Auburn. North-South Highway 99-E connects with scenic Highway 20 at Marysville and, coming from the Reno, Nevada, area, near Yuba Gap, off Interstate Highway 80.
