Our main show room is now seventy feet square. The building is heated by steam, making it comfortable in winter time; lighted by electricity and equipped with an elevator for the convenience of our patrons. We have spared no pains and expense to build up and maintain in this mountain community an establishment that is modern in every respect. We honestly believe it is to the interest of the public in general to have a large stock of goods close at hand and respectfully solicit your support and patronage. Years of experience has taught us where to buy the cheapest and where to get the best. ‘We have the exclusive agency for the Oliver Chilled Plow, the Bridge & Beach Stoves, the Sherwin Williams Paint and several other lines which are purchased direct from the manufacturers. On these goods we have the advantage of the carload rate of frelght to coast terminals. On other lines we take the advantage of everything offered us. We buy in carloads. We pay cash. Therefore, the lowest market prices and minimum freight rates are obtained. We are at the head of the procession in the march of progress and intend to remain there. This little book is issued so that you may get some idea of what we have stored on the 17,500 square feet of floor space we now occupyPrices. Our prices will be found as low as the lowest, barring none either in Nevada City or in the larger business centers. When considering prices outside of Nevada City please do not overlook the fact that freight charges must be added. Time is also worth something. We are four days nearer Sacramento and seven days nearer San Francisco. When dealing with us you take no risk of breakage or damage in transit. We will ship you from Chicago anything in our line at the same price, of the same quality and on the same cash terms as advertised in the Chicago catalogues. The Eastern catalogue houses refuse to send their books to people living in a city like San Francisco. Why? Because the city merchant is up-to-date and the catalogue house cannot undersell him. Neither can they undersell any enterprising merchant in the interior. All we ask is to be given @ chance to compete on an equal basis. Exchanges.
