THE LOCAL TEACHERS ORGANIZATION IN EDUCATION The basic unit among professional organization in the field of education is the local teacher club or association. The well organizeq serves both as the guardian of indivi “eacher interests in its particular area and ds. stimulator of improved professional standards in education. More and more emphasis has been placed upon the “grass roots” idea of teacher organization. Each unit operates as an independent ' group and is in no way controlled by state or national organization. However, in practice it coordinates the whole program of the CTA and is the connecting link between the local faculty and the state program. The Nevada County Teachers Association was organized in 1945. Its sole purpose has been devoted to upholding high standards of professional conduct and working for the im provement of the profession and the general program of education of the child.
