CLAM CHOWDER.
One pound salt pork, 4 large potatoes, 3 medium size
onions,

cans
clams
(or quahog, which is superior to the
ordinary little neck clams), 1 quart rich milk.
Chop pork fine,
rut in kettle with little water, cook about twenty minutes, then
add potatoes sliced thin and onions sliced or chopped thin, and
juice of clams.
Cook slowly for 2 hours, then add clams
slightly chopped.
Add milk 15 minutes before serving.
