The children of Jesse and Cynthia Rector.
Their immigration to California.
1. Elvira Elizabeth Rector, “‘“Aunt Betty”, born
January 22, 1839 in Pike County, Missouri and died
March 20, 1915 in her suite at the National Hotel,
Nevada City, California. She married Joseph Meritt, a
cattle dealer of California who only lived five years after
their marriage. She then returned to Missouri and resided
with her father, Jesse until 1903 when she married Jefferson G. James of San Francisco (See James family).
2. Lucinda Jane Rector, born January 7, 1841 in
Missouri and died January 25, 1902 in San Francisco.
She married Jefferson G. James on December 25, 1860
and lived in San Francisco. They had one child, Maude
Strother James, born September 3, 1861. Maude married
Walker Coleman Graves (May 17, 1882) and had the
following issue:
Jefferson James Graves, born June 19, 1883 in San
Francisco and died June 10, 1973 in San Francisco.
Walker Coleman Graves, born April 1, 1884 in San
Francisco and died in San Francisco June 10, 1953.
Rector Childs Graves, born 1886 and died 1902.
3. Elijah John Rector*, born in Elk Lick Springs,
Missouri, November 5, 1842 and died July 7, 1914, aged
71 years and eight months, in Nevada City, California.
He married Margaret Alice Griffith of Louisiana,
*Jefferson James married Elvira Elizabeth after the death of her
sister Lucinda Jane.
