That the said parties of the first part, for and in
consideration of the sum of Two Hundred and Fifty
($250.00) Dollars, lawful money of the United states
of America, to them in hand paid by the said party
of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby ac-—
Knowledged, do by these presents grant, bargain, sell
and convey unto the said party of the second part, and
to his heirs and assigns forever, all those certain
lots, pieces and parcels of land, situate and being in
the County of Nevada, State of California, and bounded
and particularly described as follows, to-wit:
Being our ranch Known as the "Nevis Homestead"
-in the Western part of Nevada Township, County and
State aforesaid, and known and designated on the
United States Government Surveys as the West one half
(4) of the South west one quarter (+) of the North
Mast one-quarter (+)‘and the South East one quarter
(+) of the North west one quarter (4) of Section Four
(.4) in Township Sixteen (16) North, of Range Hight (8)
Hiast, M. D. B. &. M., excepting and excluding a strip
Along the Easterly side of said ranch in width One
