The Nevada County Traction Line street car line went past Ah
Gin's chinese gardens at Glenbrook. This is Ah Gin and his
proud family, taken about 1905. When the daughter in the
silken pajamas grew up and was to be married her father, among many other gifts, presented her witha large diamond ring.
Sotrusted and respected was Ah Gin that the NC jeweler C.J.
Brand allowedAh Gin to take Brand's entire stock of diamonds
home to Glenbrook for his daughter's personal selection. So
trusted was Ah Gin that Mr. Brand did not even bother to inventory the diamonds before they were taken from the jewelry
store. Bob Paine continues his story of the early streetcars in
Fool's Gold on Page 6. Ah Gin family portrait. Chinese, Ah Gin family portrait. 2 adults, 2 children, b/w.
