    Special Mining Number, The Nevada City Nugget Birds eye view of the Camp and Buildings The Western Merger Mine is located about three miles easterly from Nevada City on the North Bloomfield road. The property has been actively worked since the Fall of 1926 The Company has built a complete plant, consisting of electric hoist, compressors, drill sharpener machine shop, 5 stamp mill, and concentrator plant. Last year a 60 inch saw mill with a 50 horsepower motor was installed. The plant is omplete with all modern equipment. The company brought in the electric power line when they started work. The main working shaft is now down to the 400 this point. Two shifts are working and 15 men are now of the WESTERN MERGER MINES CO. employed at the mine. H. B. Skewes is superintendent of the mine. A. A. Codd of Neno, Nevada, is General Manager No better work is being done in the Nevada City District than is being done at the Western Merger mine. The management has very little to say but they are actively working all the time. The company has maintained steady production while carrying on a progressive policy of development Work on the 400 level is being prosecuted toward the Jackson ground which gives promise of much added ore with plenty of backs.
