The South Yuba Canal ¢ Completed in November 1857. ¢ Operated by NID and PG&E, it is the main aqueduct for most of our water in western Nevada County. ¢ 16 miles long: 8 miles of flume or pipeline, 8 miles of ditch and 3 tunnels. ¢ It supplies more than 100 million gallons of water a day to 30,000+ people & 3,000+ farms in Nevada and Placer counties.
