Alumni Entertained by Seniors
Friday evening, January 7, the Alumni were entertained by the Seniors, who
gave the Pre-Commencement exercises over again. An orchestra composed of former
members of the High School played several numbers. Speeches were also made by
the former graduates, encouraging the Alumni movement. An Alumni organization
was formed with Frank Nilon, Jr., as president, Miss Elizabeth Richards, vice-president, Miss Ruth Grimes, secretary and Mrs. Belle Douglas, treasurer. Refreshments
were served and then all danced until a late hour.
Juniors Give Farewell Luncheon
The Junior Class entertained Ruth Treadwell, one of the members of the class,
who was going away to live, at a farewell luncheon, Friday, February 4. The ‘eats’
consisted of enchiladas, salad, cake and coffee. Speeches were made expressing how
scrry the class was to lose one of its most pepular members. Miss Treadwell had
gone through every grade with most of the members, and her jolly company will be
greatly missed by all.
Pretty Valentine Party
The Senior-Sophomore Section entertained the Juniors and Freshmen at a pretty
Valentine party, on Friday evening, February 18. Dancing was the principal feature
of the evening, the catchy music being furnished by the High School Orchestra.
Valentines were given out and the affair was a jolly one because each person took
some part in the entertainment. Refreshments were served and all regretted having
to leave in time to catch the eleven o’clock car,
21.
