STRAY LEAVES I
Planting of the Class Tree.
(By one who didn’t).
A tree, a tree, for thee,
Oh, Class of Ten!
The girls did all agree
They'd seek for thee right then.
We've not a single day
‘Tis possible to wait;
-What matter if they play
At basketball this date!
The boys with us must go,
Or else them we'll disown.
\Ve know they’re slow, so slow,
But they'll help with that madrone.
lor once those girls were wrong,
For School was more than Class
‘lo champions brave and strong—
Girls went—but boys—alas!
‘The tree ‘tis planted now,
But don’t ask when or where,
In what way, or even how;
In fact, twould not be fair.
BE, GePETERSON, “10.
