THE QUILL VOL. VI. Publisher ky the Class of 09 RNebpda City, California June 9, 09 EDITOR = : JOYCE E. LOBNER ASSOCIATE EDITOR 2 2 MARGUERITE E. SHAND BUSINESS MANAGER = = FRANK M. NILON EDITORIAL, This edition of the Quill has been compiled with the kindest feelings of friendliness and good fellowship, and it is the earnest wish of the editors and of the Class of ’09 that its contents be received in a similar spirit. May it while away a few minutes pleasantly before it passes into the spirit world of books. The Class of ’09 speaks above because the students of N. C. H. S. has seen fit to entrust to the Senior Class the publishing of the school paper. However, it is essentially a High School paper and should be recognized as the expression of the Student Body. Is not this fact, though, too much forgotten, even by the Student Body,—by the three lower classes especially? Before it is possible for the ‘‘Quill” to be a credit to us all, the Seniors must have the co-operation of the under graduates. Moreover, in all good works, the four classes should act together inharmony. In asmall High School, like ours, everyone’s opinion counts and as individual efforts always count, the responsibility of keeping the acts of the Student Body fair and honorable, and its ideals high, rests on all alike. When each one has a realization of this and and a determination to do his part, is it possible for the fair name of the Nevada City High School to be dishonored? ‘‘No, never !”.
