THI QUILL
Martin Luther
Marin Luther I’ve been thinking
What a fine class this would be,
tf you never had revolted,
And ‘‘eut no ice’’ in history.
You brought up our friend the chureh,
Who we thought by now was dead;
You have jeft me in the ‘‘lureh,”’
And I can’t explain my head.
When I read I didn’t believe "em,
When I saw it I was vexed,
T thot all monks were in heaven,
And hardly believed the text.
When I read those ‘‘awfn]’? theses,
Which are truly awful things,
My head broke up in pieces,
And all thought I had took wings.
Perhaps they’re just gone for an airing
And are flying ’round the moon,
But Chapter XXVI is slowly nearing,
And we will bury Luther soon.
