has been frequently reprinted, notably in Edwin Bryant’s What
I saw in California, New York, 1848, and C. F. McGlashan’s
History of the Donner Party, Truckee, 1879. It is, consequently,
for the first time that the complete diary, exactly as written, is
now published.
