_ DEDICATION
This year the student body dedicates their yearbook to
Miss Belle Alexander, who taught school in Downieville and
many other communities of the county for over 30 years, during which time, she also served as County Superintendent of
Schools. She was very active in community affairs; served
as Superintendent of Sunday school for many years; and also
taught a Sunday-School class. During her teaching days, many
problems confronted hey one d which was a means of transportation She overcame this problem by commuting back and forth
on horseback to teach school. Miss Alexander!s presence has
been greatly missed by her friends and even those who were
not directly acquainted with her. Not only did she aevote
her entire life to the Sisdkeprent of education, but also
‘she has devoted it to other members of her family. In appreciation of her long and devoted work in education, the
students are therefore dedicating their yearbook to her,
