O THE AFFLICTED—Dr. L. J. Czapkay returns
his sincere thanks to his numerous patients for
their patronage, and would take this oppor.unity to remind then that he continues to consult at his Institute
forthe cure of all forms of private diseases,— such as
syphilis, gonorrhea, nocturnal emissions, and all the
consequences of self-abuse, In the first stages of syphlitic or Zonoroheal diseases, he guarrarties a cure in a
few days, without inconvonience to the patient or hindrance to his busincas. When a patient, by neglect or
improper treatment, has developed the secondary symptoms of syphilis, such as bubves or painful swellings on
the groins, or ulcers in the throat and nose, which, if not
checked, destroy the soft partsand cause the bones to
separate and come away, leaving the sufferer an object
hideous to behold; or when blotches or pimples break
out on the skin, or when he has painful swell'ngs on the
bones, or when his constitution is injured so as to pre dispose to consumption or constitutional diseaae, the doctor
guara—tees a cure or asks no compensation.
In rheumatism, chronic or acute; in disentery or diarrhea, he has safe and effectual remedies. For the treatment of the consequences of self-abuse, such ag Nocturual emissions, Nervousness, timidity, headache, pain in

noises shock or startle the patient, making his existence

CERTIFICATE,
The undersigned, desirous of acqnainting those who
may be unfortunate enough to be similarly afflictedwhere a permanent reliefof their sufferings may be obtained, feels it his duty to publicly express his sincere
gratitudeto Dr. L. J. Czapkay, for the permanent reeovery of his health. Borne down by the distressing
symptoms incident tothe vicious habit of uncontrollable
passions in youth, depressed in body and mind, unable
to perform even the most trifling duty imposed upon the
daily avocations of life, I sought the advice of many
physicians, who at first regarded my disease as of trifling importance, but, alas! after a few w ecks, and in
several instances months, of their treatment, I foundto
my unutterable horror, that instead of relief the symptoms became more alarming in their torture, and being
finally told byone that the disease, being principally
confined te the brain, medicines would be of little conse
quence . despaired of ever regaining my health, strength
and energy ; and asa last resort, and with but a faint
hope, I called upen Dr. Czapkay. who, after examining
my ease, prescribed some medicine, which almost instantly relieved me of the dull pain and dizziness in my
head. Encouraged by the result, I resolved to place
myself immediately underhis care, and, bya strict
obedience to all his directions and advice, my head became clear, my ideas collected. the constant painin my
back and groins, the weakness of my limbs, the nervous
reaction of my whole body on the slizhtest alarm or
excitement, the misanthropy and evil forebodings, the
self distrust and want of confidence in others, the incapability to study, and want ofresolution, the frightful, exciting, and at times, pleasurable dreams at night
fellowed by involuntary disharges, have all disappeared
and. infact, intvomonths after having consulted the
Doctor, I felt as if inspired by a new life—that lifo
which a short time ago, I contemplated to end with my
own hand, J
_ With a view toguardthe anfortunate from falling
into the snares of incompetent quacks, I deem it my duty
to offer thistestimony to the merits and skill of Dr.
Czapkay and recommend him to all who may stand in
need ofmedical advice, beirg assured by his own experience that, once under his care a radical and permanent cure can be effected,

Carb.—Prompted by an honest desire of my heart, J
wish to lay before the public a case which deserves a
commendation, not only a3 an Act of scientfic skill but that
of humanity also. About two years ago, I suddenly and
from causes unknown tome, was seized with a fit of ep
ilepsy. which, owing to my inability to meet the expen
ses consequent upon a thorough medical treatment and
the discouragement which I met with on attempting it
soon became such (as I was then led totbelicve) as to defy
the skill of any physician. I was frequently, while in
pursuit of my calling, thrown down to the ground without the loast warning ; and although insensible to the agonies, I yet despised the miseries of my life, and soon
learned to look upon those who would render assistance
or shelter me from danger, as enemies who sought to
prolong the existence of my miseries. While in this
state and having, previous to my affliction, tasted the
sweets oflife, T once more was induced to attempt seek
ng aid of a physician. and by recommendation called
upon Dr. Czapkay, 1 told him of my circumstances ando
my inability to reward him for services—regardless of
which, however, heat once undertook my case, and with
the blessing of God, I was once more restored to perfect
health. Unable to reward him for the boon which I
enjoy at present, and yet conscious of my indebtedness
I consider it due to myself and ail aftlicted, to make the
case public, in order that those in need of medical advice
may find a physician in whom every confidence can be
placed.
