Twelve buildings were destroyed by
fire in the village of Covington, Ky., on
tho night of the 10th July. Toss, $35,000, of which a small portion only was
insured.
Hon. Richard Rush, since ‘the death
of Henry Clay, is the only surviving
member of those who composed the cabinet of Jubn Quincy Adams. He is now
living near Philedelphia in the enjoyment of excellent health. Mr. Rush is
also the only surviving member of Mr.
Madison's administration, in whose cabinet he filled the post of Attorney General, at the early age of thirty-three.
