A preliminary organization was effected in the forencti; the usual committees appointed, when an adjournment was carried to one o'clock. _ The Committee on Permanent Organization reported at the commencement of the afternoon session ; C. Conaway, of Grass Valley, permanent Chairman ; H. M. Moore and D. McCarty, retaries. "Phe Conyventi-n was nearly fall. Mr. Conaway expressed his thanks in a speech suitable to the party. Nomin;tions being in order. Niles Searls was nominate? by acclamation for District Judge. Geo. D. Roberts, of Grass Valley, and H. M. Moore, of Eureka, were put in nomination fcr State Senator.
