Pe eet» i Oren. ies Arrival of the Golden Gate. Thirteen Days Later .from the Atlantic States—Departureof Walker for Nicaragua, and arrival at Greytown— Burning of the Government train conSirmed— Resumption of the New Orleans Banks-—American Horses beaten at Newmarket—Fall of Delhi—Death of Gen Cavaignac, &. Gen. Walker, the fillibuster, left New Orleans on thé 11th of November, in the Mobile Packet. At the Balize, or somewhere in the neighborhood, he was transferred to the steamer Fashion, and is now on his way to the field of his former exploits. He is accompanied by about four hundred men, and has provisions for thre¢ or four months, and abundance of war materi#lg. The steamer Fashion was formerly a government vessel and employed as a transport. Ste was recently advertised for sale by the U.S. Marshal at New Orleans. Orders were sent from Washington to N. O. on Saturday Nov. 14th for the immediate dispacth of revenue cutters in pursuit of Gen. Walker. The authorities confidently expect to overhaul the filibuster before he: effects a landing in Central America. The General was arrested in N. O. Nov. 10th by Custom House officials, but gave bail and set out next morning. By the Panama steamer we learn that Walker had landed at Greytown. The following was telegraphed to Panama on the arrival of the West India Island steamer Dec, at Aspinwall ; : A correspondent at San Juan del Norte, writing under date of 6th ult., gives a gloomy description of the condition of Nicaragua under its present rulers. ; Freedom of speth, mitch I¢ss of action, is entirely unkndwn. A word, almost a thought, is imprisohment of exile. Several of the natites who favored the government of Walker, have been shot, some are impiisoned, some are working . inthe fields of Matagalpa, and many who were inéiely suspected of fiiendly to the imeritaus have been banished from the totintry. _ Aspinwall; Dee. 2a: Gen. Walker has landed at Greytown. The following i8 ll that ‘s kii##n at present of this new expedition? on the 24th Nov. &@ -siall steawé@r called the Fashion appeared off th® pot: She did not attempt to &ntér but ran down to the Colorado Biter whére Walkér landed 500 men and on the following day she came into Greytown at fall Speed with only ten ten Gn detk; ran alongside a hulk and before the boats of the U.S8. Sloop of Var, Saratoga, could board her . Walker and his party amounting to 15% men had landed at Mr. Seott’s. Capt. Chatard, of the Saratoga, otdered them away from Mr. Seott’s prentises, and has taken Greytown and the property be-. longing to the Prauait Co. tinder his protection. He has also inforntéd Walker that he wiil not allow any depredations to be committed in *ither place by the Fashion. — : Papersbting ovérhauléd.it was found that she regularly cleared from the Custom Hetise at Mobile Sh. is now here (Aspinwall). We have come here with dispatches for the Senior offi¢er of the British fleet on this station, and also for © Sommodore Paul. ding of thé U. S. frigafé Wabash. Walker and 100 fillibusters have landed at Greytown. ‘Tite American Cor. vette did not pré'vent théir landing. F?fty men went ap thé river in boats brought out by the st€amer Fashion. Dispatches have been received at Washington confirmatory of the report of the capturs and destruétion of Government provision trains by the Mormons. It is stated that Col. Johnson was determined to entér the valley of the Great Salt Lake. and the route of the expedition had been change} in order to reach that point by a road lessob structed by snow than the one vriginally adopted. The Mormons were assembling in large force to oppose the advance troops. A Gen. Harney, with a large force, will be dispatched for thé séene of action as soon as he can make an entrance into the Territory. The American horses Prioréss and Babylon made an inglorious performance for the Cambridgeshire stakes at Newmarket. Thirty-one brsés ran, and Babylon actually camé im last, Mr. Parr’s Odd Trick was the winner. Delhi has fallen. It is just as possible for a confirmed thief to be honest, an inveterate liar to tell the truth, an habitual inebriate to be strictly temperate, as for a Democrat to bea Freesoiler. The principles of the one are diametricaily opposed to the other, and he who professes to be bofli ig a hy pocrite if not something worse.” Sotp.—Allthe interest of James R. Hardenberg and of Hardenberg & Henarie, in and to the Orleans Hotel, Sacramento with all the appurtenances thereunto beionging, whether lot, building, furniture, bedding. &c.,&c., was sold on monday by the Sheriff, on a judgment in favor of Winans & Hyer, for the sum of $310. Winans & Hyer were the purchasers. CaLtroRNiA Reapy.—The Sacramen to Sentinel learns from good authority that Gen. Kibbe has written to Washington, informing the Cabnit that California is ieady to enter into the Mormon war. The General states that arms, ammunition and men can be transported to the scene of action ata much quicker and cheaper rate from an! through California, than directly from the States by land. The Governor of Kansas.—A correspondent of the Springfield (Mass.) Argus, thus describes Gov. Walker. In personal appearance I must admit heis some#Hat inferior ; he is very short, and quite small, but on his little frame, which seems tottering beneath i's weight, rests an immense brain-pan. He wears a standing dickey, which half hides his countenance at side view, but when you get a square, front view, his regular features and not? forehead . spead loudly of his genius. His head is . parrly bald. His eye is like the eye of an eagle, and the angles of his mouth . show a mighty will. He is in size a small man, but in intelleét 4 migl€ i Rev. San Francisco, Noy. 10th, 1856. Messrs. Park & Wuite—Gents ‘It is with pleasure I assure you, that I am able to add.my testimony in favor of Wistar’s Balsam of Wild Cherry. For over a year I have been afflicted with a cough and pain in my side and breast. which originated with acold. I had taken Cherry Pectoral, Jaynes’ Expectorant, Cod Liver Oil, and many other popular patent medicines of the da also spentever one hundred dollars with our physicians. But all proved of no beneficial effect. Reading your almanac of 1855, I was induced to try your Wistar’s Balsam of Wild Cherry, I was, at the time I commenced using it, laboring with every symptom of consumption of the lungs. I found, that after using one bottle, it gave me relief, and as I considered my case a hardone, I sent to your store and bought.half a dozen bottles ; and snffice it tosay, before I had taken it all, I was well. I must say, that it appeared to reach the very place affected, in which all other medicines failed. I am new in full enjoyment of good health, believing, that had I no‘ made use of your truly valuable Balsam of Wild Cherry, I should now have been past recovery, if not dead. 1 shall always take pleasare in recommending to those who are afflicted with coughs, colds, difficult breathing, pain inthe side or any lnng diseases, your Balsam of. Wild Cherry, with the signature you advertise, “Sanford & Park, Cincirinati, Ohio,’ as TI am informed there is an imitation pat up with some other signature. Respectfully yours, DAVID ALLCUT. XP Beware or Base Imitations! £3 As there are quite a number of Counterfeit articles bearing the name of Wistar’s Balsam of Wild Cherry, purporting to be the ‘Genuin« and Originsl,’’ we therefore deem it necessary for the public good to Caution all persons who purchase the Balsam of Wild Cherry, to look avell at the Signature before buying. The “Gennine Wistar’s Balsam of Wild ‘herry,’? has a FAC SIMILE of the signature of Henry Wistar. M D, Vhiladelphia, and Sanfo.d & Park, on a finely executed steel engraved wrapper.
