der of gold and quartz at Remington
Hill, weighing Sidoz. It was found .
in the claims of Jere Green & Co
and presented the appearance of half
negg. The other half was expeeted to be found. On Monday last an
old man who had worked im the claims
a long time and who found the nugget, declared his intention to go down
into the valleys to live, and packing
up his blankets, Bhorldered them and }
started up the hill in this direction. .
One of
whose suspicions had been excited .
followed up the hill and overtaking .
him, accused him of having the othe? .
half of the celebrated lump. The old .
man confesetd that he had, drew it
from his blankets and gaveitup. In
consideration of the age of the old
man he was suffered to go unpunished
and his name is suppressed. The
lump was on exhibition at the hank.
