no other section offers so many inducements to-day for the safe and remunerative investment of capital in mining. There are miles upon miles of rich gold-bearing quartz and gravel deposits that have been scarcely prospected. Good timber abounds on every hand. Canals carrying an abundance of water for power and washing thread their way at frequent intervals through every district, and electric power is supplied to many of the mines of Nevada City and Grass Valley, in which districts one of the largest electric power companies in the West is operating with marked success. In no portion of the State are mining supplies cheaper, and the climate is such as to permit of operations being carried on every month in the year. The large area of territory that awaits the miner’s pick in Nevada County shows that the mining industry here, despite our great gold production in the past, is stillin its infancy. The opportunities open to capital are very favorable. Working bonds can be obtained on easy terms, and prices are not beyond reach nor reason. Mining has been reduced here to a practical science, and our mines are run on a business basis the same as any commercial undertaking. The chances of failure are thus reduced to a minimum. Our methods of mining are the-latest and most effective. It long ago became an aphorism that he who wantsrto see the best opened mines, the most efficient machinery and the best processes of reduction known to the gold miners of the world must come to Nevada County to find them. =.4 =
