New Cnvurcu.—A commodious and mfortable church has just been fin_ished at the hend of Broad street, for the M. £. Church South, under the pastoral charge of Rey. Mr. Blyth. A fall congregation were in attendance on Sunday last. Although we cannot see the propriety of secdional churches in California, we welcome every euxiliary in the cause of moral and religious instruction, believing that a wide ficld is open for this labor in the state, It is stated inn letter which appeared afew days since in the San Francisco Herald, that President Filmore has determined for the future to make the appointments for offices in California from amongst our own citizens.
