Defining and establishing the bounda.
ries of the City and its five Wards:
The Common Council of the City ot
Nevada do ordain as follows:
Sec. 1.—The boundaries of the City
of Nevada shall be and are hereby
established from the site of the store
of Truex & Blackman, as follows, to
wit:
The northern boundary line shall be
one mile and a half due north. The
southern boundary line shall be one
mile and a half due south. Tie eastern boundary line shall be one mile
due east; and the western boundary
line shall be two miles due west from
said site in conformity with a plat as
surveyed by J. 8. Brodie under the
instructions and authority of the common council.
Sec. 2.—The City of Nevada shall
be and is hereby divided into five
Wards, as follows, to wit:
Ward Ist, shall comprise that portion of the City embraced within the
following limits, namely, to wit: Cozmencing at the intersection of the
south bank of Little Deer Oreek with
the eastern boundary line of the city,
and following westerly said south bank
of Little Deer Creek to the bridge at
the foot of Main street; thenee continuing westerly along the south bank of
Great Deer Creek to its intersection
with the west boundary line of the
city, thence southerly along the west
boundary line of the city to its junction with the south boundary line;
thence easterly along the south boundary line to its junction with the east
boundary line, thence northerly along
the east boundary line to the place of
commencement.
Ward 2d, shall comprise that portion of the city embraced in the following limits, namely:
. Commencing on the South bank of
. Little Deer creek at the bridge at the
foot of Main street, and following
. northerly the west side of main street
. ,0 the northeast corner of the store of
+ H. Shepherd on upper main street,
“ence northeast to the northeast corner of the boundaries, thence southerly
ialong the east boundary line of the
. city, crossing Great Deer creek to its
lintersection with Jittle Deer creek,
thence westerly along the south bank
of Little Deer creek to the place of

Commencing at the uortheast corner of V. H. Shepherd’s store on upper main street and running northwest
by north to the northern boundary line
of the city, thence easterly along the

Sec. 3d.—A city Surveyor shall be
chosen by the common council on the
passage of this ordinance, whose duty it shall be as soon as practicable, to
define the aforesaid boundaries of the
city, and limits of the five wards, by
suitable and permanent land marks;
he shall also furnish the common council with an accurate plan of the said
boundaries of the city and limits of
its wards, and perform such other pro. fessional duties as may be required by
jthe common council for which serviees well and truly performed, he shall
receive such compensation as may
i hereafter be prescribed.

street.
The common council of the city of
Nevada do ordain as follows:
Sec, 1. That the ordinance entitled
an ordinance respecting a ravine west
lof Main street, be repeealed and si

Sec. 2. The. committee on streets
jare hereby authorized to contract with
. some person or persons for a sum not
ding six hundred dollars, to turn
the water from said ravine by a ditch
or sluice from its present course into
the ravine known by the name Roger
William’s ravine, at a point to be approved by the committee.

Wueweas, the extension of the Burial
Ground, immediately in the rear of the
City Hall and Court street. is complained of as a public nuisance, Therefore,
The common council of the eity of Nevada do ordain as follows:
Section 1. That from and after the
ssage of this ordinance the burial of
the dead in sard ground be and the sama
is hereby prohibited.
Section 2. Any person violating this
ordinance shall, on conviction, be subject toa fine of twenty-five dullars.
