FISHER is our only authorized Agent , ta San Francisco to reecive Advertisements, receipt for the same, and to transact business generally for the NSVADA JOURNAL. Office—No. 171% Washington Street, ucarly opposite Maguire’s Opera . Mouse—up-stairs. BRECKENRIDGE CouNTY CONVENTION.—The . Democratic Breckinridge County Convention, for the nontination of a legislative ticket, meets at the Court House to-morrow (Saturday) at 10 o’clock, A. M., Weare told by those who ought to ‘know, there will be a large attendance of dele. gates. We judge from signs that elther Phil Moore or H. M. Moore, of Moore’s Flat, will be nominated . for thegSenate. The chances are in favor of the ; first. Forthe Assembly S. L. Blackwell, of Eureka, and Ed. McSarley, of Rough and Ready will probably be succeasful before the Convention. Tlie . other nominees are difficult to predict. . BRECKINRIDGE PRimaRY MEETING.—At a! primary meeting of the Breckinridge and Lane Democracy held in this city on Saturday last 255 votes only were cast! The cause of the small nunrbcr is attributed to the Douglas County Convention which was held on the same day. . The following delegates were elected to the} County Conveation : . N. Bailey, A. Cazamayou, A. J. Brewer, C. . Wilson Hill, A. T. Laird, Jno. Grimes, A. H. Hagadorn, L. Samuels, Niles Searls, Pierce Quirk, . Phil. Moore, Chris. Beckman. Pracnes —Judge Farquhar of San Juan has the thanks of an editor’s household for a box of . the finest looking and most exquisite flavored . peaches we have met this year. The peaches came in most elegant style—not a bruiseonthem. Such . peaches, grown in the mountains, are bound, not } long hence to drive the dropsical productions of . the valleys from our markets, and may the time . quickly arrive. We trust that our San Juan fruit raisers will take a sample of their fruit to the Valley fairs, and give the men of the plainsa taste of something that is worth eating. Judge, weappreciate your present and kindness. . } SoOcIAL GATHERING.—We would again call the . attention of citizens of Nevada and vicinity, to the . Fruit Party which the friends of Mr. Brierly are preparing to give on Thursday evening, Sept. 13th. The funds raised will be expented in furnishing the Church on Spring street, which is now in a state of forwardness, and will be ready for oeceugathering, pancy in a few weeks. A pleasant *lota”’ of nice fruit, anda good ebject we hope will be sufficient inducements to secure a large at tendance. Schmitdschncider and Plumhoff will furnish music to enliven the occasion. @rares.—To have seen the clongated rvisages of grape raisers the morning of the severe frost in May, one would have supposed a grape conld srown in the mountains. Weattempted to show then that, though the fruit was killed. a second crop would make its appearance and come to maturity. All doubts on the point! may be disaipated by taking a look at the gardens of Messrs Craig, Worrell, and Hoel. not be gro NEw SMELTING ESTABLISUMENT.—Mr. J.J. . “Ott, assayer, is putting up a smelting establishment in the rear of the theatre, for the purpose of . working Washoe silver orca. proper apparatns are on the ground, and the building is fast approaching completion.
