The City Marshal shall receive as a full compensation for his services, the sum ofone hundred dollars a month to be paid out of the City Treasury. He shall also receive for his services as Collector, fifteen per centum on all monies collected on account of poll and road taxes, and five per centum on the amount collected by him on account of other city revenues ; which per centage he is authorized to retvin outof the amount collected. Ske. 2. Policemen shall receive as a compensation . . for their services the sum of ninety dollars a month, to be paid out of the City Treasury as other demands against the City. Ske. 3. Rours, Clerk. fNumber 47.1 N ORDINANCE LEVYING AND PhoVIDING FOR THE COLLECTION OF THE CITY PROPERTY TAX. The Trustees of the City of Nevada do Ordain as follows : SecTion 1. There shall be, and is hereby levied upon all assessed and taxable property within the corporate limits of the city of Nevada, for the fiscal year, ending May 1861 a tax of fifty cents upon each one hundred dollars of assessed value. Src. 2. It shall be, and is hereby made the duty . of the City Marshal or his Deputy, to collect said taxes ; said Collector shall forthwith give notice, by publication in some newspaper, published in this city, that the city taxes are due and payable, and . the time and place at which he willreceive the same: also, that the lay in regard to their colleetion, wit . be strietly enforced. Sc. 3." Upon the first Monday in January 1841, at the close of the business hours for that day, the tax collector shall enter upon the tax list or asse* ment roll, a statement, that he las made a levy upov all the property assessed in said roll, and upon whieh the taxes have not been paid. On or before the third Monday of January 1861, the tax collector shall complete a list of all persons and property then owing ' taxes, and the tax collector in addition te the tax . levied, shall collect upon each delinquent, the sum of one dollar, as costs incurred in preparing and publishing the delingvent list. Src. 4. On or before the first day of February, 1861 the tax collector shall cause the delinquent tax list to be published, giving the name of the owner of all real estate and all improvements on the same, together with such a condensed description of the property, that it may be easily known, and alse 4 . ‘ : : : . similar condensed description of any real estate er . improvements assessed to unknown owners ; and alse . opposite each name or description, the amount 0! taxes, including costs, due from each delinquent per gon or property ; such list, with the levy thereon, #* heretofore provided, shall be published for three suc . cessive weeks, in some newspaper, or supplement t¢ a newspaper, published in the city of Nevada.
