Devinavent Taxes.—The delinquent tax list has been turned over to Mr. Maslin, the District Attorney, who has commenced the collection of the same under the late special act of the Legislature. The collection is made by civil suit, and if the act is strictly enforced, as we doubt not it will be, few delinquents will escape. It will be acted on this evening. Goats have become a great nuisance to gardeners in the outskirts of the town, as fences cannot be constructed, except at great expense, to keep them out. Goats are property under the common law, and persons killing them would be liable for damages to the owners. The only authority the Trustees have in the matter, is to pass an ordinance requiring all goats found running at large in the town to be teken up, impounded and sold; but it is a question whether such animals would sell for enough to pay the expenses of impounding them.
